The Genesee Valley Council on the Arts (GVCA) is continuing its arts fundraising efforts with Live Dance, a square dancing and BBQ event on August 2 at the Lakeville Fire Department Training Grounds Hall.

Live Dance is the second event of the GVCA’s Keep the Arts Alive Campaign, an initiative kickstarted by the GVCA to offset significant projected budgeting shortfalls due to the threat of recent arts funding cuts.
This family friendly and fun event will feature Kelly’s Old Timers, Western NY’s oldest round and square dance band that has been bringing square dancing to parties, dances and outdoor concerts since 1950. Dancing kicks off at 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., and attendees of all ages and skill levels are welcome to participate.
Serving up a delicious chicken dinner is Paul’s BBQ from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.. Grilled meats, various sides and even sweet treats are just some of what is on the menu. Beverages will be available for sale by the Lakeville Exempt Club.
Square dance tickets cost $10 for those older than 18 and $5 for ages 13-18. Children 12 and under May attend at no charge.
Pre-sale tickets are currently available for purchase here. Ticket sales will also begin at the door starting from 5:30 p.m. on the night of the event.
