Gunshine & Bad Marriage Made a Great Couple

Gunshine & Bad Marriage made a great couple on Tuesday, July 22, at Buntsy’s Band Stand in Webster. The hard rock bands came into town swinging and landed in the neighborhood restaurant. In response the town came out, receptive, and ate it all up. The food, the drinks but most importantly the music.

The evening started off with a somber feeling to it, being the day that Ozzy Osborne died. His image had been on the wall for many years but today everyone looked up, paused and took a photo of the photo. All knew it was the end of someone magical but throughout the evening that magic was placed inside Buntsy’s. It was felt deeply through the music, the tributes, libations and sharing of personal experiences.

Bad Marriage

The bad boys of Boston, Bad Marriage, returned to Webster as an opener for Gunshine. The venue was filled with fans in merch as the high energy band played songs from their decade long archive. The band came dressed to kill in metal swag, long blowing hair and hearts of metal. The crowd in return sang along, bought shots for the band and danced the night away.

However, what really made Bad Marriage stand out was their relatability, their love of fans and the ability to just hang with the crowd. Lead guitarist, Mike Fitz stated, “Buntsy’s is such an amazing place and we look forward to coming here. The people are amazing and it is a location worth supporting.”

Following Bad Marriage was Florida based headliner Gunshine, a bayou loving band with electric grooves and high voltage energy. Their sound draws a heavy inspiration from the 1980’s rock scene while staying authentically themselves. Dripped in bravado, raw melodies and lyrics from the heart, Gunshine did not shy away from shining on stage. Making me believe that rock is not dead, but alive and that it will live on one band at a time. Possibly with the help of a magic man in spirit. Rock on!
