Steve Hackett is best known for being the guitarist in the legendary Genesis. Hackett joined the progressive rock band in the 1970s after placing an ad in Melody Maker. Seven years later, he would leave the band and release his first record as a solo artist in 1978.

Now, Hackett released his newest live record, The Lamb Stands Up Live At The Royal Albert Hall, on July 11th. The record is in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the legendary Genesis concept album The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway. Additionally, on the record, Hackett included some of his favorite records from his time in Genesis and from his solo catalog.
In addition to the live record, there is a special edition 2CD+Blu-ray Digipak which includes 5.1 Surround Sound & bonus interview content. Also, the vinyl is a deluxe 4LP 180g boxset, including a 12-page LP-size booklet featuring photos from the evening.
Hackett is making three stops in New York to support the record. He’ll be at the State Theatre of Ithaca on Oct. 4, the Kleinhans Music Hall in Buffalo on Oct. 5 and The Town Hall in New York City on Oct. 22. Prior to those shows, he sat down with NYS’s Michael Singer to discuss his new record, his time in Genesis and Les Paul guitars.
