On Sunday, July 13, “Weird Al” Yankovic and his band brought the Bigger And Weirder Tour to Bethel Woods Center For The Arts for a night full of laughter and music.

For over 40 years, “Weird Al” Yankovic has entertained audiences with his musical parodies spanning from Pop all the way to Grunge. Following a sold out debut performance the night prior at the world famous Madison Square Garden, Al and his band delivered an over two hour show to the Bethel crowd Sunday night.

Sunday’s show was opened by Puddle’s Pity Party, a 6’8″ clown whose haunting voice captivated the crowd. Featuring covers of some of pops most popular songs, the tall crooning clown brought new meaning to some of the most unsuspecting of songs by slowing them down and letting his powerful baritone voice convey the lyrics in a way you hadn’t previously thought possible. Puddle’s act was the perfect way to prepare the crowd for the even weirder “Weird Al” to come.

“Weird Al” began his set from the parking area backstage while his band on stage kicked into the first song of the night, “Tacky.” A camera then followed Al through the crowd full of Hawaiian shirts as he performed, finally ending on stage to finish the song. The setlist for the night was full of fan favorites and hit every corner of Al’s long lasting career. The show was an extremely entertaining mixed media display of humor and music. His tour continues throughout the U.S until the end of September.
