The Bacon Brothers Prepare to Take “Forosoco” on the Road

Ask any movie fan who Kevin Bacon is, and they will probably mention movies like A Few Good Men or Footloose or try to figure out six degrees of Kevin Bacon to a number of two or three. Ask the same person who Michael Bacon is, and the most common answer will be “Kevin’s brother,” which isn’t wrong. Kevin and Michael are The Bacon Brothers, by blood as well as on stage.

Connecting with people through music is a joy!

The Bacon Brothers have spent over three decades creating their own mix of folk, rock, soul, and country music. They call that diverse sound “Forosoco,” it’s taken them worldwide, from headlining gigs in Japan to American performances at iconic venues like Carnegie Hall, the Grand Ole Opry, and Gruene Hall. They’ve been featured by the BBC, Associated Press, SiriusXM, Billboard, and Paste Magazine and have appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and Carpool Karaoke, just to name a few.

While most will know him as an actor, Kevin has been able to groom his vocal cords over the years to produce a wide variety of sounds. 2001’s Can’t Complain yields a solid comparison to Mark Knopfler, while he gets his swing on with “Philadelphia Chickens” in quirky little ditty.

Michael is no rookie in the music field either, has he holds an Emmy for his original score for The Kennedys. Additionally, he has produced scores for numerous documentaries and shows, which have garnered various award nominations.

Since 1997’s debut, the brothers have released 11 more albums. Most recently, The Ballad of The Brothers was released, with “Freestanding” as the first release. While Forosoco is noticed throughout this album, country and folk/americana seem to take precedent, and it is very well received.

The Bacon Brothers kick off their tour on July 16 and then find themselves in NY’s Finger Lakes as they play Point of The Bluff Vineyards on July 27. Clear your calendars and make your way to Keuka Lake for an evening of amazing music and lakefront views.
