X Ambassadors are celebrating the 10 year anniversary of their debut album VHS with a reimagined version, VHS(X), out on August 29. They’re hitting the road this fall, playing two hometown shows at Ithaca’s State Theater on September 19 and 20, and then rolling into Brooklyn Steel on September 23.

The band first broke through in 2015 and have since toured the world, dropped platinum singles, and worked with artists like Eminem, Lizzo, and The Weeknd. With VHS(X), they’re digging back into the raw honesty that shaped their early music.
“Now, whenever I have a thought like: Oh God, I wouldn’t want anyone to know that about me, I know I have to try and write something about it and be vulnerable. Because guaranteed there’s someone out there who feels the same way too, and hearing me sing about it might make them feel a little less alone.”
Sam Nelson Harris, Front Man
X Ambassadors got their start in Ithaca when brothers Sam and Casey Harris began making music together in high school. After adding drummer Adam Levin and relocating to Brooklyn, the band dropped their debut VHS, featuring the massive hits “Unsteady” and “Renegades.” Since then, they’ve scored songs for big films, released multiple albums, and circled back to their upstate roots with Townie, a personal, place-based record that arrived in 2024.
