The production will also feature a four-performance encore weekend at Guilderland Performing Arts Center at Tawasentha Park in Guilderland, NY from Thursday, July 30 through Saturday, Aug. 2. Amphitheater seating at both venues is offered for free with premium reserved tickets on sale.

The classic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical OKLAHOMA! celebrates the Playhouse Stage Company’s 37th season.

“It is a thrill to bring a new production of Oklahoma! to audiences at Park Playhouse for the first time in a generation,” Owen Smith, Playhouse Stage Company Producing Artistic Director, said. “Oklahoma! was one of the first musicals to be staged by the Park Playhouse precursor, “Live at the Lakehouse,” in Washington Park in 1987.”

Opening on Broadway in 1943, people widely consider OKLAHOMA! as the first, true piece of American musical theatre. With music by Richard Rodgers and a book and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, OKLAHOMA! integrates original, story-driven songs, book scenes and dance into a cohesive whole.

We are really excited about this new Playhouse Stage Company production that is both faithful to the original text, while still being fast-paced and fresh in its approach

Lead performers JJ Razzano and Emma Cornish will play with the eighteen-member cast, supported by an eight-piece band of Albany Musicians Association players.

Following the OKLAHOMA! performances, August will feature Disney’s The Little Mermaid at the historic Cohoes Music Hall. For more information and to purchase reserved seat tickets, visit here.
