NYC-based indie pop-rocker D.K. Lyons revives 2000s pop-punk angst with a new single “stop”.
“stop” dips into the cliches of teenage angst by telling the story of a fleeting romantic encounter, but at its core, this deeply multilayered track explores the dangerous cycle of overthinking.

With strongly punk inspired drum beats and finely subdued guitar, “stop” draws from the essentials of the pop-punk genre that dominated the 2000s. Punching through the nostalgic instrumentals is a bratty blast of lyrics and smoothly layered vocals, showcasing Lyons’ talent as a singer-songwriter and producer.
“stop” is the latest release from Lyons’ upcoming EP “Darling Kiss Louder”, which is set to be released August 29. Ahead of the release, Lyons also released a new single titled “loveseeking”.

Lyons made his musical debut in 2018, with “Blame My Astrology”; a five track rock-inspired EP. In 2020, Lyons released his debut album, The Past (Romanticized), which featured 12 tracks inspired by the sounds of The GooGoo Dolls, Tom Petty and The 1975. Lyons eased into the indie-pop genre with the six-track EP “Vandalism” in 2021 and fully embraced his developed sound in the cleverly titled sophomore album, Sophomoric Rambling, released in 2024.
