Brooklyn alt-rock band, War Honey, returned on June 8 with their third EP, All You’ll Ever Be Good For. After a two year break, the band delivers a set of four tracks that explore heavy tones through layered guitars, atmospheric soundscapes, and some surprising sonic choices that keep listeners engaged.

The EP features “My Little House,” a fan favorite from their live shows; “The Ballerina”; and two instrumental pieces, “This Time It Will Be Different” and “Behind The Glass.” True to their New York roots, War Honey self-recorded, produced, and mixed the entire EP, giving it a personal, authentic feel.
Opening with the lead track, “My Little House,” the EP sets a dark, almost cinematic tone with an eerie intro. As the song builds, the instrumentation weaves together seamlessly, creating a hazy and immersive atmosphere. Rather than hitting hard, the music flows steadily, allowing the haunting vocals and rich textures to come through well.
The vocals are raw and emotionally charged, delivering a theatrical intensity that lingers long after the song ends. This isn’t typical alt-rock singing, the singer is pouring soul into every note. Lyrically, the track is introspective and melancholic, exploring themes of isolation and self-reflection. It’s the kind of song that resonates on a deep emotional level, even if its meaning isn’t immediately clear.
With its emotional depth and experimental edge, All You’ll Ever Be Good For offers a fresh take on alt-rock. War Honey clearly aims to stand out from the crowd, and if you want a taste of their personality, just check out their website and bio.
You can stream the EP on all major platforms, and it’s available for pre-order on Bandcamp for just one dollar, with an instant download of “My Little House” for those who pre-order.
