The Barr Brothers are back with their first major headlining tour since 2019, kicking off November 4 and including stops at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn and the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock.
The tour supports their newly announced album Let it Hiss, out on October 17 via Secret City Records.

While this is the first headlining tour in a while for the band, led by brothers Brad and Andrew Barr, they completed a run of duo shows in fall of 2024, selling out venues like Mercury Lounge and Levon Helm Studios, and reunited their early band The Slip for a series of dates in 2021 and 2022.
Let it Hiss was produced by the Barr Brothers as they worked out of their Montreal studio, with mix engineer John Low (The National, Taylor Swift, Bon Iver). The album features guest appearances from Jim James (My Morning Jacket), Patrick Watson, Elizabeth Powell (Land of Talk), and Klo Pelgag.
Their long-awaited fourth studio album is more than just a collection of 10 new songs– it is a document of transformation. It reflects an important shift: a period of pause, vulnerability, and reconnection between two brothers who’ve spent their entire lives making music together.
They shared the project’s first single– title track, “Let it Hiss”– alongside the album announcement.
Though Let it Hiss is eight years in the making, the duo hasn’t been idle. Andrew has spent time playing drums for Feist, Mumford and Sons, Gracie Abrams and Broken Social Scene. Brad has explored a wide array of collaborations, and released a solo album in 2022, The Winter Mission. Together, they’ve toured with My Morning Jacket and War On Drugs. Brad and Andrew also co-wrote a song for the movie “The Iron Claw” featuring Jeremy Allen White titled “Live That Way Forever” with Richard Reed Perry and Little Scream.
Since 2017’s Queens of the Breakers, life has pulled the Barr brothers in new directions both professionally and personally. It altered their creative process, a deep-rooted approach that required triage.
“In 2022, we found ourselves at a breaking point,” says Brad Barr, the band’s guitarist, vocalist, and primary songwriter. “It was clear something had to change. The real story of this record is the story of that change and everything that came after.”
“Let it Hiss is what happened when we stopped pretending everything was fine and finally listened to what was actually going on,” says Andrew, the band’s drummer, percussionist, and vocalist.
