Downtown Albany toasts to summer with Buskers and Brews, a festive event that features live performances and free drinks on June 28.
Buskers and Brews is an interactive event that allows participants to experience the best of the Capital Region’s expansive beverage landscape and the local atmosphere of downtown Albany.
This unique event is structured as a self-guided passport-style crawl through various venues, inspired by Tony award winning musical “Once”, which comes to the Capital Repertory Theatre July 11 through August 10.

Each stop along the Buskers and Brews event tracks lasts an hour, with the event kicking off at 12 p.m. Participants will check in at the Capital Repertory Theatre and enjoy a live performance from veteran Irish American musician Kevin McKrell, as they receive their passports and sip on the first of many free drinks.
At 1 p.m., participants will head to McGeary’s Irish Pub as musician James Kelly takes the stage and receive one complimentary beer from the pub’s special selection as they snack on appetizers.

The next venue is Common Roots Albany Outpost. At 2 p.m., participants can enjoy a lively performance from the Pride of Moyvane Buskers, as well as complimentary beer or wine and pizza specials.
The final stop of the Buskers and Brews event takes participants to the Irish American Heritage museum from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., where musicians Michael Clarke and John Nolan will perform, accompanied by local Irish stepdancers.
Only 100 participants can attend Buskers and Brews, so visit here to purchase a passport and save your spot for this unforgettable summer event.
