Newly-formed quintet Actual Proof will take a residency at the CNY Jazz Central Theater in Syracuse starting at the end of this month.
CNY Jazz Central Presents: Monday Night Sessions with Actual Proof, held on the last Monday of each month from June through October at 7 p.m is set to start on June 30.

Actual Proof define themselves as jazz fusion with sounds of the 70s and 80s. Every show will present a new catalogue of hits by legendary artists like David Sanborn, The Yellowjackets, Jeff Lorber Fusion, Joe Sample, Steely Dan and Michael Brecker.
Ronnie France leads Actual Proof on electric bass with acclaimed work as a GRAMMY nominee. Saxophonist Brian Scherer worked with jazz and pop icons like Don Menza, Martha Reeves and Frank Sinatra Jr. throughout his career. Guitarist Rick Balestra is a former soloist with the Syracuse Symphony and Pops Orchestra. Keyboardist Ed Vivenzio previously worked with major label band “805”, reaching national charts. Drummer Evan DuChene toured with jazz fusion pioneers Dry Jack and vocalist Philip Myers.
“We’re excited to bring our show to the CNY Jazz Central Theater and connect with our fans in such a beautiful intimate venue,” France said in a statement. “We’re looking forward to this rare opportunity to pay tribute to our favorite contemporary jazz/fusion artists in this new concert series.”
France said the rising band’s goal is to launch a regional theater and concert hall tour in the Northeast by 2026.
“This is so much more than a revival, it’s an opportunity for audiences of all ages to discover this huge body of work,” CNY Jazz Central Theater host Larry Luttinger said in a statement. “My hope is that not only music fans, but younger jazz and funk musicians will drop in for an intergenerational hang to check out this amazing music.”
Actual Proof will play at the CNY Jazz Central Theater in downtown Syracuse on June 30, July 28, Aug. 25, Sept. 29 and Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. For more information and ticket details, click here.
