Celebrate Dad Fest 2025 with Live Music and More in Albany

The City of Albany and KeyBank present Dad Fest, a free Father’s Day celebration featuring live music, food, and family-friendly activities, on Sunday, June 15 at Washington Park.

Performers take the stage at Dad Fest

Now in its eleventh year, Dad Fest is Albany’s annual tribute to fathers and father figures, offering a relaxed early summer afternoon for families to gather in one of the Capital Region’s most scenic parks. With classic cars on display, live performances, and a welcoming community atmosphere, the event promises something for everyone—even those who aren’t dads.

Dad Fest will showcase a classic car show presented by ParkAlbany, along with performances by three powerhouse tribute bands: The Wheel (Grateful Dead), Slippery When Wet NJ (Bon Jovi), and Psycho Circus NYC (KISS), all on the Main Parade Grounds. Attendees can also enjoy a wide selection of food and craft vendors, take a swing with The Mobile Golf Club, and bring the kids for free rock climbing and bounce houses from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The Wheel: Buckle up and enjoy the ride with The Wheel, the Capital Region’s authentic Grateful Dead tribute band known for their dynamic and soulful performances. They will take the stage from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The Wheel brings a big, danceable groove to the party, driven by the deep pocket of rhythm guitarist and bandleader Andy Morse, bassist Dave Pallas, drummer Bob McKeon and percussionist Pete Andriakos. They provide an unshakable foundation over which lead guitarist Bryan Gautie and keyboardist Kenny Schneidman weave solo after evocative solo together with virtuosity and taste. Yet they are also capable of complex, interwoven conversations that display the nuance and dynamic range of the Dead’s music in quieter, more blissful passages. Vocally, The Wheel possesses a diverse blend of styles, from Morse’s smooth, heartfelt delivery, Schneidman’s full-throated soul, and Bryan Gautie’s Jerry Garcia-like tenderness.

SLIPPERY WHEN WET NJ: SLIPPERY WHEN WET NJ, performing from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., is more than a tribute band—they’re seasoned New Jersey rock veterans bringing the energy and attitude of Bon Jovi’s heyday. Lead singer Mike Parkes channels a young Jon Bon Jovi, while guitarist Radicci replicates Richie Sambora’s iconic solos. They’re backed by Sean Faust on keyboards, Ronnie Parkes on bass, and Ron Lipnicki on drums, delivering an authentic and electrifying Bon Jovi experience. Since 2001, they’ve played sold-out shows worldwide, including for U.S. troops overseas.

PSYCHO CIRCUS NYC: You Wanted the Best — You Got the Best. Experience the iconic sound and electrifying energy of KISS with Psycho Circus NYC, a distinguished tribute band renowned for their authentic performances. Their set will take place from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. This is an unmissable event for fans seeking a faithful recreation of the legendary band’s signature concert experience.

Classic Car Show Presented by ParkAlbany: The 8th annual Dad Fest Classic Car Show, presented by ParkAlbany in partnership with Capital Car Shows, will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. along the inner roads of Washington Park.
