The Amsterdam Waterfront Foundation presents the Riverlink Park Summer Concert Series, returning this season with a full lineup of free live music, regional talent, and the vibrant waterfront atmosphere that has come to define summer in the region.

This year’s lineup features a diverse mix of sounds, from the energetic Irish party vibes of Get Up Jack to classic rock favorites performed by Kaos, and Harvest and Rust’s Neil Young tribute. Attendees can also look forward to a blend of rock and country with Chain of Fools, dance party tunes from Showtime, and the vibrant rhythms of the Latin American Festival. The Valley Rockers bring classic rock, country, and blues, with the series wrapping up with Legacy, performing hits from Journey, Foreigner, and Styx.
Organizers carefully curate each season’s lineup during the winter, seeking high-energy, crowd-engaging performers with the goal of introducing the community to artists—both local and regional—while broadening musical tastes and experiences.

A highlight of this summer’s series is the Erie Canal Bicentennial celebration on August 23, featuring one of Central New York’s biggest bands, Gridley Paige, with their AM Gold Yacht Party. The event will honor 200 years of the historic waterway with live music and festivities along the waterfront.
A new initiative, Music on the Mohawk, aims to promote music, the arts, and community along the Mohawk River by uniting five riverside communities, each hosting a summer concert on a different night of the week. With live music five days a week, the program fosters regional collaboration, highlights local talent, and enhances public park spaces.

Community is at the core of Amsterdam, a small city of about 18,000 known for its close-knit, big-hearted spirit. Despite its size, the Riverlink Park Summer Concert Series draws crowds ranging from a few hundred to several thousand, uniting people through a shared love of live music. Attendees include local residents as well as visitors from across New York—and even as far as Massachusetts. Organizers prioritize nurturing a hometown spirit through the arts, offering a meaningful service that enriches community life and raises Amsterdam’s profile as a cultural destination.
When talking about the Riverlink Park Summer Concert Series, Vice President of the Amsterdam Waterfront Foundation and Deputy Mayor Christopher Carpenter said, “All anybody cares about is enjoying good music. All the troubles of the world slip away for two hours.”
The free Riverlink Park Summer Concert Series takes place each Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m., at Riverlink Park, 2 Front Street. Parking is available within a short walking distance.
Whether you’re a longtime local or a first-time visitor, the Riverlink Park Summer Concert Series offers the perfect way to spend a summer evening—live music, scenic views, and a strong sense of community.
