Dive Brake is set to digitally release their new live record, Copy That: Alive in Bushwick, on Friday, May 30.

Released through Queens-based indie label Pinch Records, Copy That will be available on all major streaming platforms. The record closes with its fifth track, a live cover of the Allman Brothers‘ “Southbound” featuring Ryan Liatsis on guitar.
Performed in July 2024 at First Live in Bushwick, the performance captures a dynamic energy that makes the trio standout in New York’s progressive jam and grunge scenes. The track includes a crisp count-in that leads straight into layered guitars and driving rhythms, launching a performance that’s both tightly executed and sonically charged.

Dive Brake is a New York-based progressive grunge jam band featuring Nick Pascarella (guitar/vocals), Steve Remp (drums/vocals), and Dexter Larsen (bass). The trio spans Brooklyn, Dutchess, and Orange County, reflecting their wide ranging roots.
The band’s name is derived from an aviation term– “dive brake,” a device that slows an aircraft during a steep descent. For the band, it’s a metaphor for regaining control amidst turbulence and launching into full blown ascent. Formed from the remnants of a previous project and some casual jam sessions, Dive Brake represents a creative lifeline as they explore and diversify their collective sound.
Prior to Copy That, the band has an EP titled The Approach and released their full-length LP Bravo in May 2024, also on Pinch Records. Bravo was recorded onto a restored Mara 24 track 2” tape machine, offering a true analog presentation. It is available on vinyl via the label’s website.
