May 10th and 11th was Albany’s annual Tulip Festival, taking place across Washington Park and one of Albany’s biggest events.

Festival events last all weekend however the largest part was the two stages of music. Though the week prior was full of bad weather and rain the mud, across Washington Park didn’t keep any fans (or photographers) away.

This year the festival’s 518 stage held four acts. Amanda Case local pop/indie singer-songwriter. Zan and the Winter Folk a folk band from Troy. Aila Chiar known for her genre bending style. The night came to a close with the Albany Rock Pit Showcase Band. This band is from the Rock Pit school and had students as young as 11 performing.

The Tulip Festival Main Stage had three acts on Saturday. Starting off the day was Laveda NYC based indie rock band. Next was Jukebox the Ghost piano-rock trio.

To finish off the amazing day of music was the 502’s Olando’s self-proclaimed “happiest band on earth” their set had the crowd singing along and even asked the audience to “Place anything negative going on inside your mind in your hands. I want you to hold it above your head.

Now on the count of three were going to scream as loud as we can and throw away the negative energy.” This resulted in the entire crowd following along as they began singing their most popular song Just a Little While.
