Yeehaw! Local Country Band Candy Was Sweet Treat to Lilac Festival Goers

On Monday, May 12, local country band Candy performed for the first time at the Rochester Lilac Festival. The up and coming five piece band wowed festival goers with retro honky-tonk reminiscent of 1950’s – 1960’s classic country. Mixing original songs with covers of favorite toe tapping hits, Candy and “The Boys” is the sweet treat you didn’t know you needed.

Bewitched by Candy’s sugary voice, children and adults alike poured into the main stage field as her melodies enchanted the grounds. Spellbound by the band’s wholesome demeanor and old school values, the crowd danced and cheered. Devoted fans arrived with home made signs and came adorned in band t-shirts, hats and fanny packs.

Front woman Candy authentically personifies the girl next door mixed with your favorite country singer. Dressed in custom jumpers, cowboy boots, and hat; she reminded the crowd of a simpler time through music. Singing relatable songs about love, heartbreak, family, hard work, and rural life. The Boys were dressed in their best attire for the special occasion at Lilac Festival, accompanying Candy with soulful melodies, and an electric crisp back beat. Candy is a show not to miss.

You can catch Candy and “The Boys” on May 23rd at 20 Deep Winery in Mendon (5:30-8pm – FREE) and June 6th at Lux Lounge (666 South Ave. Rochester) with special guest Old Lady (10pm – $5).
