The Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame Podcast proudly presents a special episode spotlighting two legends of hip hop—B-Luv and AJ Rok, founding members of the groundbreaking Long Island group, JVC Force. Celebrated for their classic tracks like “Strong Island” and “Doin’ Damage,” JVC Force helped carve Long Island’s name into hip hop history with their powerful rhymes, infectious beats, and raw energy.
Emerging in the late 1980s, JVC Force made their mark with the underground hit “Strong Island,” an anthem that boldly repped their roots and resonated across the hip hop world. Their debut album Doin’ Damage dropped in 1988 on B-Boy Records and was followed by Force Field in 1990 on Warlock Records. Known for their innovative production and lyrical skills, the group later signed with Big Beat Records, but disbanded after releasing the single “Big Trax” in 1992, leaving a third album unreleased.
In this episode, B-Luv and AJ Rok take listeners through their journey from Long Island’s streets to the national stage, discussing their creative process, influences, and the cultural impact of their music.
