Halfstride Hosts Mental Health Awareness Concert At Buffalo Iron Works

Halfstride, a NY-based indie rock band, is hosting a Mental Health Awareness month concert at Buffalo Iron Works on May 25. The concert will feature Halfside and two other bands, Pretty Good State University and Blaised and Confused, who are united in their advocacy for mental health resource development in the community.

All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Compass House, a crucial emergency shelter and resource center dedicated to supporting youth in need.

Halfstride is a traditional indie/alternative rock band made up of Gabriel Birkby (guitar, vocals), Conn Sullivan (bass, vocals), and Madison Rich (drums, other percussion). Their narrative-driven melodies float over their rhythmic instrumentation, creating a striking original sound and dynamic live performances.

Compass House was founded in 1972 as a homeless shelter. Today, they run an Emergency Shelter, Resource Center, and a Rapid Re-housing Program. They seek to provide help for runaway, homeless, and street youth with safe shelter through a voluntary and mutually agreed on process in an environment that supports respect and self-reliance. Halfstride’s concert this May is a great opportunity to support this cause!
