The Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame (LIMEHOF) is opening its doors to the next generation of talent with the launch of its first-ever All-Star Band Camp, a week-long summer program designed for high school students passionate about music and performance.

Running from July 28 to August 1, with daily sessions from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., the camp will culminate in a final student performance on Sunday, August 3 at 3:00 p.m. Held at LIMEHOF’s museum in Stony Brook (97 Main Street), the program will immerse students in Long Island’s rich musical history while preparing them for the intensity of live performance.
Open to vocalists, drummers, guitarists, bassists, and keyboardists in grades 9 through 12 from Nassau, Suffolk, Queens, and Kings (Brooklyn) counties, the All-Star Band Camp gives students a chance to rehearse and perform songs by legendary Long Island artists such as Billy Joel, Mariah Carey, Blue Öyster Cult, and Twisted Sister—all of whom are LIMEHOF inductees.
“As part of LIMEHOF’s commitment to education, we are thrilled to offer students the opportunity to perform songs by our esteemed inductees in the unique setting of the museum,” said LIMEHOF Vice Chairman Tom Needham, who oversees the organization’s educational initiatives. “The All-Star Band Camp is a one-of-a-kind experience that connects young musicians with Long Island’s musical legacy.”

Leading the program is Jack Licitra, LIMEHOF Long Island Sound Award Winner and founder of South Bay Arts in Bayport. With over 15 years of experience coaching youth bands, Licitra and his team bring a proven method of preparing students for real-world performance environments.
“LIMEHOF is inspiring the next generation of LI musicians and this is a great step toward cultivating that talent to create a thriving music scene,” said Licitra.
Students will engage in five days of intensive rehearsals, developing ensemble arrangements tailored to their individual skills. The camp emphasizes teamwork, professionalism, and live performance readiness, offering a true glimpse into what it takes to be part of a high-level music ensemble.
The cost to participate is $350, and space is limited. Interested students must apply by June 1 by submitting their name, age, instrument or voice part, and contact information to Tom Needham at info@limusichalloffame.org or by calling 631-689-5888.
