The show was opened by Aficionado, an alternative rock band out of Albany. The band had broken up a few years ago, but recently got back together. Aficionado’s lead singer, Nick Warchol, mentioned that once they heard that their friends were playing at No Fun, they had to come out to support. They dropped an EP, Warm Shoulders/Strays/Purgatorial Phase on April 4.

Aficionado played a 40 minute set to a full crowd. The music was loud, the band was moving, and people were feeling their vibe. They have not done a lot of shows, but are looking to do so more often likely in the DIY space.

Cursive came out to a warm welcome from the sold out crowd. They played a lot of songs off their new Album, Devourer, while also playing some deep cuts for some of their loyal fans. Towards the end of the hour long set lead singer, Tim Kasher, did not wait for cheers for an encore. Kasher went on a brief monologue about the recent election. He asked the crowd to take care of their immigrant and trans friends before going into 3 more songs.

Their tour has left New York, but finishes on April 27 in La Vista, NE.
