Wild Adriatic Resurfaces: A Six-Year Silence Broken with Energetic Harmony

For a decade, Saratoga Springs rock band Wild Adriatic toured extensively across the nation, performing over 200 shows annually at prominent festivals such as Mountain Jam, South by Southwest, Gathering of the Vibes, and Bonnaroo.

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020, touring was off the table, prompting the hard-hitting rock band to retreat to a studio apartment in Lake George to record and self-produce an album comprising songs crafted during several of their earlier tours.

On Friday, April 18, the songs recorded five years ago and almost left for dead will be released as the band’s first studio album in six years. To celebrate, Wild Adriatic performed a release party at Putnam Place in Saratoga Springs, the band’s home turf, with an opening set by Reese Fulmer & The Carriage House Band.

The eleven-track album, Wild Adriatic, opens with “A Simple Thing,” a powerful introduction that vocalizes the feeling of wanting to ask someone for their name to be able to get to know them, yet not being able to. Following this track comes “Balderdash,” a smooth transition into an uplifting groove, making you feel empowered and ready to dominate the day.

The longest track on the album, “New Orleans,” is a 4-minute and 17-second journey into the jazzy experience of a person leaving New Orleans and venturing off into different places like Las Vegas. It creates a feeling of unification, with lead singer Travis Gray passionately singing, “I know we’ll recover if we just have one another. We’re sisters and brothers when it comes down to it, we got to walk each other home.”

The rest of the album consists of “Ain’t The First Time”, “Run Back Home”, “Stay True (Says You)”, “Bad Behavior”, “Until The Lights Go Out”, “In The Mood”, “It’s Hell”, and “Voodoo Blues.” The final track, “Voodoo Blues,” is a wonderful piece that encompasses the entire vibe of the album. The track brings you along to a captivating psychedelic journey, with the lyrics being incredibly eccentric, surrounding themes of “the devil’s music”, with the instrumentals making it ever more powerful and alluring.

This album will deeply captivate you. Each instrument and musician adapts and harmonizes with each other’s style. Wild Adriatic has satisfied highly anticipated listeners with their first release of new music in six years. To listen to the album and learn more information, click here.
