Antone’s 50th Anniversary Brings Texas Blues to Lincoln Center

Antone’s All-Stars will take the stage at Damrosch Park on June 29 for a special 50th anniversary concert presented by Lincoln Center.

Antone’s All-Stars NYC concert

As part of the Summer for the City series, this one-night-only performance honors the legendary Austin blues club Antone’s, hailed by NPR as “the birthplace of a blues revival.” The show brings together a stacked lineup of Texas blues and soul icons. It will celebrate the legacy of the club that shaped generations of musicians and fans alike.

For five decades, Antone’s has served as a launchpad for rising artists and a sacred stage for blues legends, earning its place as a cultural institution far beyond Texas. Since opening its doors in 1975, Antone’s has hosted legends like B.B. King, Ray Charles, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Muddy Waters. Over the decades, the club’s tight-knit community of performers evolved into the Antone’s All-Stars. It is an ever-rotating cast of musicians keeping the Texas blues spirit alive.

The June 29 concert will feature performances by Jimmie Vaughan, Grammy nominee Sue Foley, C.J. Chenier, Benny Turner, Kam Franklin of The Suffers, John Primer, Big Bill Morganfield, and more. Members of the Muddy Waters Blues Band, the Bobby “Blue” Bland Orchestra, Antone’s Horns, and other surprise guests will round out the bill.

Audiences can expect a soulful blend of Texas blues, swamp pop, zydeco, and vintage R&B, performed by musicians who have shaped the genre. In addition to celebrating the venue’s 50th year, the event previews music from an upcoming anniversary boxed set. The collection, produced with New West Records, includes new recordings by Antone’s artists past and present.

Antone’s 50th anniversary celebration will take place at Damrosch Park (Amsterdam Ave. & West 62nd St) and is free to attend. For more information, visit Lincoln Center’s website.
