In Focus: Tracy Drios at AM:PM Gallery

Tracy Drios presented his first live performance at the AM:PM Gallery in Brooklyn. The moment he took the stage on Friday, April 11, the entire space transformed into a vibrant and welcoming environment. Through his show “Home” Tracy Drios created a personal universe which he welcomed viewers to explore.

Through his performance, Tracy Drios delivered more than lyricism, he shared his memories along with cultural heritage and personal bonds. Every element throughout the exhibition, the producer-songwriter revealed its clear purpose. A kitchen photo of Tracy with his grandmother and his first recording equipment setup created an atmosphere of familiarity throughout the entire room. The event signified more than just Tracy because it honored all individuals and locations within his life.

The audience absorbed his narrative through the slow-burning opening track “2 Face.” The performance included two brand-new compositions titled “Tio’s Acura” and “21 (Would Say) / Evil Eye” which delivered authentic energy and story telling from his perspective. Through his songs Tracy Drios demonstrated the musical sound while following the historical path of his music.

The performance transformed into an intimate social gathering instead of a traditional stage show. An  unfiltered celebration of community, ancestry, and the art of becoming. The evening concluded with a single realization that this event marked more than a debut show. It was a homecoming.
