Long Island Concert Orchestra to Premiere “Rossini Perduto” in NYC

The Long Island Concert Orchestra proudly presents the world premiere of Rossini Perduto on on Thursday, May 22 at 7:30 PM, at The Theater at St. John.

Composed by award-winning New York composer David Winkler with a libretto by acclaimed Italian poet Luigi Ballerini, Rossini Perduto brings a fresh, imaginative lens to the legacy of composer Gioachino Rossini. The opera revives the idea of “lost genius” through fragments of Rossini’s music, blurring the lines between memory and myth in a bold, multimedia production.

Directed by Stefanos Koroneos, known for his cutting-edge work with NYC-based Teatro Grattacielo, and conducted by Grammy-nominated Enrico Fagone, this production brings together exceptional international talent. With stunning visual projections, striking use of shadow and light, and a cast of rising stars from around the globe, Rossini Perduto is a rare operatic experience that bridges history and innovation.

This premiere is supported by a host of cultural partners including NYU Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimò, Italian Cultural Institute of New York, and the New York State Council on the Arts, affirming New York’s role as a global hub for artistic excellence.
