Bedridden Announce Debut Album “Moths Strapped To Each Other’s Backs”

Brooklyn’s Bedridden is set to make a thunderous entrance with their debut album, Moths Strapped To Each Other’s Backs. The ten-track album will be released on April 11, via Philadelphia’s Julia War Recordings. Produced by Momma’s Aron Kobayashi Ritch, it explores the unexpected nature and chaos of adulthood.

Bedridden

Bedridden started as a college project by frontman Jack Riley in New Orleans, where he teamed up with bassist Sebastian Duzian and drummer Nicholas Pedroza to bring his vision to life. Their 2023 EP, Amateur Heartthrob, introduced their sound with tracks like “Clara’s Mouth” and “Soft Soap.” Since relocating to Brooklyn, the band has expanded to include guitarist Wesley Wolffe.

The album title was inspired by an eerie message Riley received on the astrology app Co-Star, mirroring his feelings of dependence and uncertainty. The LP explores the transition from adolescence to adulthood, weaving together themes of dating, drugs, and survival. Raw, heartfelt, and tragic, it captures the messy reality of growing up.

Their first single, “Etch,” is out, offering a glimpse into what the rest of the album will bring. Riley describes the track as a rhythmic accident, born from frustration and a need for catharsis. “The irregular triplet line came to me first and sounded somber, yet hostile,” Riley explains. “The song is frantic and doesn’t have a tonal center. With its weaving guitar harmonies laid underneath countering vocal melodies, it sounds to me like that regretful fistfight that I was longing for.”

They also released the second single from the album, “Chainsaw,” last month. Read about that release here. Finally, they dropped “Philadelphia, Get Me Through” on March 26, further hinting at what this highly anticipated album has in store.

With Moths Strapped To Each Other’s Backs, Bedridden delivers a debut album that thrashes, aches, and ultimately finds a way forward. Listen to “Etch” now and pre-save the album ahead of its April 11 release.
