The Garden Of Dreams Foundation Builds New Recording Studio in Harlem

The Garden of Dreams Foundation announced the “Dream Studio,” a music studio and music composition and recording program in collaboration with rock band O.A.R.’s Marc Roberge and Jon Lampley. With a $750,000 grant from the Foundation’s Community Projects Program, Garden of Dreams will refurbish the theater space at SCAN-Harbor’s Clinton Community Center in Harlem and build and furnish a custom music studio that will open later this year.

The new recording studio will give all young people at the community center the opportunity to learn about music composition and recording through lesson plans designed by Marc Roberge and Jon Lampley. Roberge and Lampley are also directly working with over a dozen young people ranging in ages 13-17 from SCAN-Harbor to write, produce, and record an original song that will debut at the 2025 Garden of Dreams Talent Show on April 8th at Radio City Music Hall. Throughout their time in the studio, they have learned the techniques behind vocal arrangements, music engineering, and songwriting, as well as the business of music and publishing. In addition to performing the track at the 2025 Garden of Dreams Talent Show, the Garden of Dreams Foundation will release the song on May 15th everywhere.

“Community projects are one of the core pillars of the Garden of Dreams Foundation and further our commitment to providing unique and lasting experiences that they may not otherwise have to the young people and families we support,”

Rich Constable, Executive Vice President Global Head of Government Affairs & Social Impact, MSG Entertainment

This year’s Garden of Dreams Talent Show will showcase more than 150 young people from the tri-state area, all of whom are facing unimaginable obstacles. Performances will feature group and solo acts, including dance numbers, instrumental performances, a drumline, vocal performances of original and classic songs, and more.
