Sound Mind Live’s Mental Health Music Festival Returns to Brooklyn

On May 18, Sound Mind Live returns to Brooklyn Paramount for its seventh annual Music Festival for Mental Health. This event will connect music, advocacy, and interactive experiences to promote mental health awareness.

Headlining this event are psychedelic pop artist BØRNS, pop-rock favorites American Authors, and activist-singer MILCK. Alongside the artists will be a spoken word presentation by mental health advocate Hakeem Rahim. Hosted by comedian Jordan Carlos, the festival will go beyond music. It will offer thought-provoking panels, keynote speeches, and a communal singing moment led by Gaia Music Collective.

A highlight of the event includes a live taping of the Going There with Dr. Mike podcast, featuring a yet-to-be-revealed special guest. Additionally, over a dozen mental health organizations, including the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), will be present to provide resources and support.

The Sound Mind Live Music Festival for Mental Health extends beyond May 18, with a day of wellness-focused programming at the Sound Mind Center in Dumbo on May 17. Attendees can participate in workshops, singing circles, and an ecstatic dance party, with festival ticket holders granted free entry.

General admission will cost $35, while VIP packages ($135) include priority seating, complimentary drinks, and limited-edition festival merch. Pre-sale tickets open on Wednesday, April 2, at 11 a.m., followed by general sales on April 3. Those unable to attend can stream the event on Sound Mind Live’s YouTube channel in collaboration with YouTube Health.

This festival is about more than just music—it’s about building a supportive community where people can share their stories, find resources, and connect through a shared experience
