Parlour Magic is a synthpop band started by Luc Bokor-Smith, a NY-based producer and media artist. They have been on a tour across North America this spring, promoting their latest album Saturn Return, released in October. On Friday night, Parlour Magic played a selection of songs from Saturn Return as well as their newest single released the day of the show, “Queens.”

Gracing the stage at Sultan Room during Parlour Magic’s set was a neon blue sign spelling out the band’s name. Bokor-Smith is also a visual artist whose work features blends of light and sound. His visual art background was apparent through the show as the stage production mixed with the music at Sultan Room on Friday night.

Part of what makes the band stand out is the way they combine the artistry between these different mediums. Included in the setlist was “Super Eight” off of their recent album, a ballad filled with odes to film.

Following their North American tour, Parlour Magic and Late Again head to Canada. They will be playing shows in Montreal on April 3 and Toronto on April 5. Tickets and additional tour information is available through Parlour Magic’s website.
