Space Carnival will perform a rare trio of shows to start April, heading to Brooklyn, Patchogue and Albany over April 3-5, with Dodongo supporting each show.

Disco-funk meets prog rock has defined Space Carnival’s sound, which grew out of Oneonta in 2013. The band performed extensively across the Northeast and Midwest, taking an amicable break in 2018, and returning in 2023 for shows in New York and Colorado.

Known for energetic live shows, Space Carnival – Jeremy Kraus on guitar, Cameron Fitch on keys and vocals, Chris Meier on bass, and Nick Tassinari on drums – have maintained a core following and are no strangers to Brooklyn and Patchogue, and have made numerous stops over the years in Albany. Fitch shares memories of past performances:

“Albany shows with Space Carnival have always been a hoot. From playing with Midnight North and having Grahame Lesh sit in with us on “Shakedown Street,” to after parties at The Hollow following moe. or Umphrey’s McGee. We’ve always had a warm welcome in the Capital District. Can’t wait to bring the carnival flavors to the Albany scene once again!

The band is spread out around the country these days, making shows like these three a rarity to catch. Guitarist Jeremy Kraus points out, “With Chris playing with Annie in the Water, Cameron playing with Nectar and Nick living in Denver, it’s not often that we can all get together and play. So when we do, it’s such a powerful creative release. Albany always brings out a special type of energy in us.”
