The Glove Theatre Announces Spring Shows, Artists, Educational Programs

The Glove Theatre in Mohawk Valley has announced a lineup of upcoming events in March and April, including family-friendly programs, unique tribute groups and educational events.

Built in 1914, The Glove Theatre aims to create an accessible platform of expression for the arts that engages, entertains and educates the regional Southern Adirondack and Mohawk Valley regions. Through operating in the region’s premier historic entertainment venue, the Theatre specializes in live productions across multiple platforms, nurturing strong relationships with community-wide collaborators. 

Friday, March 21, 7 p.m. – Concert: Elastic Endeavors and Friends

The 518 Concert Series introduces “Elastic Endeavours & Friends,” a local Grateful Dead-inspired jam band. Members Ian Hadley, Eric Achzet and Andy McManus, along with special guests Nat Mussman and Liam Decker, will join The Glove Theatre for an unforgettable night. 21+ to drink with valid I.D. 

Saturday, March 22, 7 p.m. – BoStyx – Ultimate Tribute to Boston & Styx

BoStyx, the ultimate tribute band honoring the iconic sounds of Boston and Styx, will perform a night full of soaring harmonies and notable anthems that defined the Rock Era. With songs like “More Than a Feeling” to “Renegade,” hits from both bands can be expected all throughout the night. 21+ to drink with valid I.D. 

Sunday, March 23, 2 p.m. – Free Family-Friendly Matinées Presents: Adopt-a-Plushie Workshop

The popular “Adopt-a-Plushie” workshop returns to The Glove with support from Fulton County Regional SPCA-RASE. With plushies ready to be cherished forever, families can learn how to care for their plushie and what it takes to adopt a pet and take responsibility. Information booths from the Fulton County Regional SPCA will provide information about adopting a real, live pet animal or becoming a volunteer for the important organization. 

Thursday, March 27, 7 p.m. – Open Mic | Open Stage | Open Karaoke

The Glove’s monthly Open Mic welcomes singers, musicians, dancers, slam poets, magicians, stand-up comedians and variety artists to take the Theatre’s mainstage for a 10 minute set. Performer sign-ups will begin at 6:30 p.m. 21+ to drink with valid I.D.

Saturday, March 29, 7 p.m. – The 518 Concert Series Present: Skeeter Creek

The 518 Concert Series presents award-winning country music band Skeeter Creek. The band will deliver their fun, energy-infused music and performance to the Theatre’s dance floor to all ages, with past performances selling out the house. 21+ to drink with valid I.D.

Friday, April 4, 7 p.m. – The 518 Concert Series Present: Against the Grayne

The 518 Concert Series presents the 90s and 00s band, Against the Grayne. Members Luke Baird, Brandon White, James Ferris, Todd Friedman and Thomas Irish will perform crowd-favorite alternative and grunge favorites, with a few bonus tunes in between. From bands like Sublime and Fall Out Boy to Ozzy Osborne and The Cranberries, the band will deliver a fun night full of throwback songs for all ages. 21+ to drink with valid I.D.

Saturday, April 5 at 7 p.m. – The 518 Concert Series Presents: The Refrigerators

The 518 Concert Series presents the returning party band, The Refrigerators. Recognized by Metroland, Times Union and other publications, the horn-fueled band from the Capital district continues to be one of the most sought-after bands around. The Fridges have filled the Theatre with every previous performance, and attendees can expect the same again at the dance floor for all ages. 21+ to drink with valid I.D.

Sunday, April 6, 2 p.m. – The Glove Education Series Presents: Bluebirds – and More!

The Glove Education Series, in partnership with the Southern Adirondack Audubon Society, is proud to present Bluebirds – and More! Presenter and co-founder of the NYS Bluebird Society John Rogers will deliver an inspiring and informational free presentation, including the life history of the Eastern Bluebird and more.

Friday, April 11, 7 p.m. – Concert: MAMMA MANIA! – NYC’s Ultimate ABBA Tribute!

The Theatre is proud to present MAMMA MANIA! – NYC’s Ultimate ABBA Tribute! For one night, guests of all ages will be transported back to the vibrant 70s with New York City’s premier ABBA tribute band, bringing the classic hits of one of pop music’s greatest groups back to life. With dazzling costumes, flawless harmonies and captivating stage presence, the tribute will capture the essence of the band’s unforgettable sound. 21+ to drink with valid I.D.

Saturday, April 12, 7 p.m. – Concert: Legacy Music Group

The 518 Concert Series presents Legacy Music Group, bringing an evening of R&B and Soul music to the Theatre. 21+ to drink with valid I.D.

Sunday, April 13, 2 p.m. – The Glove Education Series Presents: The Rise & Fall of the Borscht Belt

The Glove Education Series presents a free screening of the documentary, “The Rise & Fall of the Borscht Belt.” The Borscht Belt is the name for a section of the Catskill Mountains in Sullivan and Ulster Counties, famed for its social scene, food spreads and entertainment. As a launching pad for iconic stand-up comics, such as Rodney Dangerfield, Joan Rivers, Alan King, Billy Crystal and Jerry Seinfeld. In addition to the screening, a Q&A with moderator Glove Theatre Board Member Aaron Enfield will follow the screening. 

Saturday, April 26 – Concert: The Best of the 70’s with DizzyFish.

The Best of the 70s with DizzyFish – A Celebration of the Greatest Music of All Time will feature timeless songs from Neil Young, The Beatles, Van Morrison, The Rolling Stones, The EAgles, Billy Joel and much more, all by the great live band DizzyFish. All ages are welcome. 21+ to drink with valid I.D.
