The Rochester International Jazz Festival has announced their 22nd season’s artist lineup ahead of their performances from June 20 to 28 in downtown Rochester.

This year’s headliners at Eastman Theatre’s Kodak Hall include Smokey Robinson, Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynston Marsalis, The Wood Brothers, Rickie Lee Jones and Thundercat. The nine-day festival features more than 285 shows at 18 venues with over 1,750 artists from nine countries and the United States, drawing more than 200,000 guests annually to downtown Rochester.
Producers Marc Iacona and John Nugent expressed their gratitude to fans and the Rochester community for their continuous support in a new conference held on March 11. “Looking ahead, John and I are excited to continue offering an extraordinary lineup of world-class musicians, including Grammy winners, through our Headliner, Club Pass, and free show series,” Iacona said. “The energy, sense of unity, and shared spirit that permeate these nine days are unparalleled. It is a privilege and honor to reflect on the tremendous success of the past two decades, and eagerly anticipate the future as we continue to celebrate the magic of ‘Jazz in June.’”

Similar to years past, the festival offers their signature Club Pass Series, including 171 shows at 10 Club Pass venues, including Hatch Recital Hall, Inn on Broadway, Kilbourn Hall and more. Some of the artists included in the pass include Ekep Nkwelle, Ruta Di, Sasha Berliner Quartet, Jarrod Lawson and more. The festival also offers their free Headliner Series, with this year’s performance including Chris Lane, Jesus Molina, Los Lonely Boys, Lettuce and Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue. Throughout the nine days, visitors can also expect performances from youth ensembles, scholarship presentations, jazz workshops, jam sessions and more.
Since 2002, the Rochester International Jazz Festival has celebrated all genres of creative improvised music annually, standing as one of the world’ leading jazz festivals. Iacona is a Rochester-native producer, executive director of RIJF and the president of Simcona Electronics, whereas Nugent, producer and artistic director of RIJF, is a recognized tenor saxophonist, sharing stages with Tony Bennett, Ella Fitzgerald, Rosemary Clooney and more.
