Bedridden Release Destructive New Single “Chainsaw,”

Brooklyn-based indie-rock band Bedridden released a new single, “Chainsaw,” the second single from their debut album, Moths Strapped To Eachother’s Backs, out April 11th. Alongside the release of their new single, the official music video of “Chainsaw” features the destruction of household lamps against an eerie, woodsy backdrop.

Bedridden Band

Bedridden originated in New Orleans while lead vocalist and guitarist Jack Riley was in college. Riley is a Chicago native who grew up dabbling in punk before he fell in love with shoegaze. While in New Orleans, Riley recruited bassist Sebastian Duzian, a jazz musician and Pasadena native, and drummer Nick Pedroza from Claremont, who grew up on rock, metal, and jazz, perfecting his style after joining the band. The band moved to New York and then recently added Wesley Wolffe to the mix, a new wave and ‘90s alt guitarist.

Bedridden New Album

The band’s upcoming album, Moths Strapped To Eachother’s Backs, is a collection of 10 songs touching on the challenges of a tumultuous adult life. The first single of the album, “Etch,” came out last month; a melancholic song about anger and the need for release through violence. Their most recent single, “Chainsaw,” features roaring guitars and sings about frustrations with roommates and pent-up annoyances.

“The song is written from my perspective about a time when I made an uncertain decision to move in with a partner and her friend and a slew of manic stories that ensued after the fact…One of the stories was that of the roommates incessantly searching to buy a new lamp and how it bothered me. The video is me trying to break through that anger by destroying the lamps.”

Bedridden’s U.S. Tour has already kicked off and will make a stop at The Bowery Ballroom in NYC to support Weatherday alongside Combat and Ogbert The Nerd.
