The Philadelphia Orchestra is returning to Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) from August 6-23, 2025. With a three-week summer residency, the season showcases a remarkable lineup of vocalists, including Laufey, Cynthia Erivo, and Renée Fleming.
Music and Artistic Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin will lead a historic performance of Verdi’s Requiem on August 14. This marks the piece’s first appearance at the venue in 35 years. The performance features stars from the Metropolitan Opera stage alongside Albany Pro Musica.
Cynthia Erivo, known for her roles in WICKED and The Color Purple, makes her SPAC debut on August 22. Her powerful vocals and commanding stage presence brings a theatrical dimension to the orchestral setting. The program also features selections from her acclaimed film and stage performances alongside orchestral standards reimagining with her distinctive vocal style.
As five-time GRAMMY winner Renée Fleming returns on August 15th for her first performance at SPAC since 2016, she’ll deliver a masterclass in classical vocal performance. Her program including operatic arias and art songs, demonstrating the versatility and emotional depth that has established her as one of the world’s premiere sopranos.
“Our 2025 Philadelphia Orchestra season was marked by a strong presence of today’s most exciting and acclaimed female artists,” said Elizabeth Sobol, SPAC’s President & CEO. “We aim to create a season that bridges classical traditions with contemporary voices, bringing fresh perspectives to our summer programming.”
The season features themed film nights with live orchestral accompaniment. Beloved classics include Harry Potter and Back to the Future in Concert. These performances allow audiences to experience iconic films performed live. Watching the films while listening to live music. This creates an immersive audio-visual experience.
Tickets for the 2025 Philadelphia Orchestra Season are currently on sale. SPAC also offers preferred seating options to its members and special member events throughout the season.
