A Newly restored version of the groundbreaking 1972 film Pink Floyd At Pompeii-MCMLXXII, directed by Adrian Maben, returns to select cinemas starting April 24th. Digitally re-mastered in 4k from the original 35mm footage and with enhanced audio newly mixed by Steven Wilson, this upcoming release is a refined version of this iconic film.
The film is also accompanied by the live album, presented as a full-length live record for the first time available May 2nd.

Pink Floyd At Pompeii takes place before the release of their album, Dark Side Of The Moon, and documents what the band did before they became musical giants. Set in the historical Italian ruins of Pompeii, the film captures Pink Floyd playing an intimate concert to no audience.
Filmed in October 1971, Pink Floyd’s performance marked the first-ever live concert at Pompeii and features breathtaking and immersive visuals of the amphitheater during both day and night. On top of that, the film also includes rare behind-the-scenes looks at the band beginning to create Dark Side Of The Moon at Abbey Road Studios.

Led by Lana Topham, the Director of Restoration for Pink Floyd, the team’s goal was to preserve the beauty of the original film while still enhancing the finest details. The film’s colors were enhanced, and every frame was carefully reviewed to ensure that the film maintained a natural appearance.

Tickets go on sale Wednesday, March 5th at 6 am PT/9 am ET/2 pm GMT at pinkfloyd.film
