From event promoters Drew Frankel and Peter Himberger, Assembly takes on the former site of St. Joseph’s Catholic School to a newly reimagined live event space, determined to deliver fresh energy into the arts and music culture of the Valley. Impact Concerts have curated concerts and live events in the Hudson Valley and Catskills area since 2017. Assembly was created with a perfect, 450-capacity venue that could deliver quality experiences in mind. Impact Concerts also partnered with acoustic consulting and media systems engineering firm and neighbor WSDG.

“The greater Hudson Valley has really needed a venue like this for a long time,” said Frankel. “The pandemic shuttered many of the older mid-sized venues and as a result there’s been very little that can hold events of this size at the kind of quality we think they deserve. With Assembly, we really wanted to dream big and push the limits of what a space of this size could do.”

Through founder John Storyk, partners Joshua Morris and Jonathan Bickoff and project manager Adam Paiva, the WSDG Design team developed a comprehensive plan of acoustic opportunities that optimizes the space as a performance and event space.

“When we first saw the space, it looked amazing but we knew that it would suffer from some of the acoustic issues expected in a historic 110 year old assembly hall,” said Paiva. “The goal was to keep that aesthetic, but make it sound like a modern high caliber rock & roll music venue.”

The opening concerts at Assembly were teasers to the promising future of the performance venue, receiving positive reviews from both attendees and performers. With an array of performances in 2025, the venue continues to deliver high-quality performances and experiences.

“Anything that improves access to music, support for musicians,” Morris said, “or the quality of a music experience is something we always invest in, none more so when it’s something in our own community.”
