The Ashokan Center hosts the Global Shindig 2025, a vibrant one-day celebration of music, dance, and cultural exchange, taking place on Sunday, April 6 from 2 to 4:00 p.m. This lively event is part of the larger Translucent Borders Weekend (April 4-6), which invites participants to immerse themselves in the rich and interconnected traditions of global music and movement.
The Global Shindig at Ashokan Center will feature Interactive Music and Dance Performances where visitors can engage with expert instructors in dynamic sessions that highlight rhythms and styles from around the world and diverse regions. An Evening Dance Party and Jam Session where visitors can let the joy of global music inspire you to move and connect with others in a fun and inclusive atmosphere.
While the Global Shindig is a highlight of the weekend, attendees are encouraged to extend their experience with the Translucent Borders Weekend, a camp-style event running from April 4 to 6. Participants will enjoy three days of intensive workshops, cultural exchange, and opportunities to connect deeply with global art forms.
