The Glens Falls Symphony will host “An Afternoon of Piano Music” with pianist Chris Reynolds on March 16 at 4 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Glens Falls, NY.

“An Afternoon of Piano Music” follows the 2024-25 scheduled season of “Music, Movement and Memory.” The symphony and Reynolds will perform “Theme and Variations ‘Die vier Temperamente’” by Paul Hindemith. The symphony will also be joined by six piano students from the Capital District Council for Young Musicians for Camille Saint-Saëns’ “Carnival of the Animals.” The performance will be followed by a reception with light refreshments and a display of animal art by children from around the world, curated from the World Awareness Children’s Museum and the International Youth Art Exchange.
As part of the 2024-25 season, the symphony is set to perform their “Sound + Film” series on Wednesday, March 5 at 2:30 p.m. at the Queensbury Senior Center, featuring a free screening of Academy-Award winning film “The Last Repair Shop.” Prior to “An Afternoon of Piano Music,” Maestro Charles Peltz will host a free pre-concert discussion about the concert program and the guest artists on March 16 at 3 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church.

The Glens Falls Symphony began as a community orchestra in 1977, now entering their fourth decade of music-making as a professional orchestra since its incorporation in 1983. Under the guidance of Maestro Peltz (2000), the symphony has performed a diverse repertoire of music premiers, world-renowned guest artists, inclusive performances and more.
