Grammy-nominated Leslie Mendelson will perform at The Linda, WAMC’s Performing Arts Studio in Albany, NY, on Sunday, February 23. This show is part of her tour supporting her latest album, After The Party.

This album was produced by Peter Asher, Tyler Chesters, and Mendelson’s longtime songwriting partner, Steve McEwan. It features renowned musicians such as drummers Jim Keltner and Abe Rounds, bassists Leland Sklar and Derrick Anderson, and guitarists Waddy Wachtel and John Jorgenson.
Asher praises Mendelson as a rare singer who blends elegant precision with the soul and emotional resonance of a deeply moving writer and performer. Similarly, Jackson Browne compares her songwriting to Burt Bacharach and Carole King. Also, Jakob Dylan of The Wallflowers admires her unique voice and compositional skills.
“After The Party” reflects Mendelson’s experience living in Brooklyn for over two decades, combined with influences from Laurel Canyon’s musical history. Consequently, the ten-song album blends pop-Americana and folk-rock. For instance, standout tracks include “Rock And Roll On The Radio,” “Signs Of Life,” “I Know A Lot Of People,” and the lead single “Other Girls.”
The Linda is located at 339 Central Avenue, Albany. Furthermore, this performance is part of a multi-state tour, spanning from Colorado to New York.
Tickets and more information are available on The Linda’s website.
