In the Midnight Hour: Bill Murray & His Blood Brothers at The Capitol Theatre

Yes, THE Bill Murray played a rocking show with Blood Brothers featuring Mike Zito, Albert Castiglia, and Jimmy Vivino at the Capitol Theatre on Friday Night. Jimmy Carpenter Band opened up the night with a blues-filled set accompanied with stellar saxophone playing.

Bill Murray is a comedy legend who’s acted in some very iconic films, Space Jam is a personal favorite. People are used to seeing Bill on a screen, so many were excited to see the legend perform in person. He was running a bit late since he came straight from the SNL 50 Homecoming Concert.

The band started off with “Hey Sweet Mama” which was an electric way to get the show going. The set was lively and full of soul, featuring songs like “Tooth and Nail” and “In My Soul.” The set featured masterful guitar playing and synchronicity.

Bill Murray was playing percussion and would sing vocals on several songs. Most notably shining on the final songs “In the Midnight Hour,” “Like a Rolling Stone,” and “Love the One You’re With.” He was an epic showman and really gave it his all on vocals. It was inspiring to see him being healthy and performing so brilliantly, especially at his age. He seems like a timeless persona that doesn’t age, his spirit is vibrant and forever young.
