The R&B artist’s groove captures the mixture of emotions in finding love with “Make a Fool of You,” embracing the feeling of restless hope in romance. Encapsulating similar feelings to fellow R&B international artist MOIO, Lowhency is a Brooklyn music gem ready to go big. Featuring guitarist Andrew Connor, Lowhency brings his second home of Los Angeles in the official music video for the new single. With visuals of the artist roaming around LA in various unique outfits, the artist brings a nostalgic video through a vintage lens of what could have been if things went right.

Lowhency discusses feelings of mind over heart in the opening lyrics: “Said I didn’t miss you / But that was a lie / Just a moment with you / Would get me through the night.” Without knowing if this decision is right or wrong, the heart, Lowhency details, knows what it wants. With other lyrics of latching onto another person, not wanting to be “left behind,” there is worry and fear of being alone. Despite putting his best, Lowhency still feels the overwhelming sensation and ultimate feeling of being left behind: “You led me all this way / Are you giving up now?”

Referring back to the day that they met, Lowhency notes of feeling “alive” at a first glance, “And the mystique that you gave / Lives on in my mind.” Running towards an image that was once there, the clouds fade away and issues arise. “Why can’t you call me back sometime,” the artist wonders, “Like what do I have to do / To prove to you that I’m your guy?” This never-ending cycle of lust and it fading away puts Lowhency back to his original situation of craving genuine love, not lustful love.

“Make a Fool of You” is just one of many of the singer’s easily likable songs. Others like “Linden Boulevard” and “Crew Love” explore beyond traditional R&B, including a mixture of indie and rock sounds. Lowhency’s sit-back and listen sound creates for an easy, comfortable atmosphere – an easy choice for a perfect song in the summer to relax to.
