The F.I.R.E (Female, Inspire, Rock, Empower) Festival has announced the fourth annual celebration will occur this year on Sunday, March 9 from 2-5 p.m. at ONCO Fermentations in Tully, NY.

“This year we’re happy to host the festival at a venue that presents local musicians all the time,” festival creator Jess Novak said. “I think it’s important to support each other in the community and I’m excited for the different energy.”
This year’s festival will feature two stages, one in both the front and back rooms of ONCO, with performances from a variety of artists, including Jessica Brown, Root Shock, Joanna Nix Jewitt and more. Along with musical performances, local vendors featuring jewelry, art and more will be present, including brands like Michelle DaRin Jewelry, Colello Creations and Foxxy Bones.
“The goal has always been to present more women in more places,” Novak says. “I can’t always do a huge festival, but I like the idea of smaller events to feature different women and vendors in atmospheres appropriate for each of them and for attendees. Amanda [Rogers] and Chloe [Danes] are the type of songwriters where people need to be quiet and listen to every word. I wanted to create an event where they will shine as they are and as they’re meant to be heard.”

Prior to the F.I.R.E Festival, Jess Novak and Ashley Cox will host a free pre-party at ONCO from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 16. On Sunday, March 16, Amanda Rogers and Chloe Danes will perform at Pink Rock Culture in Syracuse from 4-7 p.m. and an event at Lunkenheimer Brewing in Weedsport will be held on Sunday, Sept. 28.
The hopes of the fourth annual concert are high. “I’ve been proud of every festival we’ve put on, but I wanted to make this one a little rowdy,” Novak says. “I look forward to songwriter showcases, but I also love a good rock show.”
