In a statement, BRIC president Wes Jackson emphasized the event’s significance. “The relaunch of Stoop Share is BRIC’s way of offering accessible spaces for performance, creativity, and storytelling in a city where affordable space is a diminishing commodity,” said Jackson. “We are proud to highlight the work of our community producers and emerging artists through the BRIC Film Festival, our first program as part of this relaunch. I hope you’ll join us in celebrating the creativity of Brooklyn and beyond.”

The festival will showcase short story films from community producers and visionaries revolving around the themes of humanity, race, existence, humor and more, using Brooklyn as their creative landmark. Projects featured include “I Too Sing America” by students at Cyber Arts Academy and “Dolla Van” by filmmaker Gabriel Tolliver.

BRIC is a leading arts and media institution based in Downtown Brooklyn, producing contemporary visual and performing arts/media and participating in civic engagement. For over 40 years, BRIC has served as a creative catalyst for Brooklyn’s cultural and media landscape through sharing local artists, creators, students and media makers.
