Turkuaz Releases New Track with Video, 2nd Leg of Tour Kicks Off Wednesday

Turkuaz dropped a new track Friday, complete with music video. The band heads out on the second leg of their tour on Wednesday with stops in Buffalo, Syracuse, Woodstock and Brooklyn as well as elsewhere in the Northeast.

Turkuaz, the nine-piece funk act from Brooklyn, continues to keep themselves busy releasing their new track “On the Run” today. The dance track was produced by Jerry Harrison of the Talking Heads. The music video, seen below, stars Chris Roberti from “Broad City” and was filmed at Brooklyn’s House of Yes.

Harrison is quoted in the press release on the recording of the track:

Their level of musicianship was inspiring and we moved quickly through the recording process. I wanted to spend some time drawing out the power of their singing which can become submerged with such a powerful band between them. I think the results speak for themselves.

The track is available for streaming and downloading.

Turkuaz is preparing to head out on the second leg of their national tour. This leg of the tour takes them through the South, Midwest and Northeast, including several stops in New York. They play Buffalo Iron Works in Buffalo on Tuesday, Nov. 7. The following night, Wednesday, Nov. 8, they stop at the Westcott Theater in Syracuse with The Suffers, who join them for the remainder of their New York dates. They hit up Woodstock’s Bearsville Theater on Friday, Nov. 10 and play a hometown show at Brooklyn Steel on Saturday, Nov. 11.

Tickets for their tour are on sale now.
