Ultimate Painting Coming to Middle East Boston & New York’s Bowery Ballroom December 6 & 7

On Tuesday, December 6, Ultimate Painting will be stopping to play Boston’s Middle East Downstairs and then continuing on to perform at The Bowery Ballroom on December 7 in New York. The duo, consisting of Jack Cooper and James Hoare, have just released their third studio album Dusk, a continuation yet more refined and polished album from the two prior. It still has the lackadaisical, thought-out melodies the band is known for, while sparkling in a gloomy, comforting haze. The standout might be “Lead The Way,” taking the #4 slot on the album. Kevin McCallum was introduced to music through the painstaking finger exercises his piano teacher made him do as an inattentive nine-year-old but developed a different understanding of all that music could be through the punk albums his older sisters shared with him as a kid. He's played in a few bands and has written and recorded his own EP. Now he's graduated from Syracuse University, where he studied Music History and Art History and continues to make music, attend shows and discover new music constantly.
