The Dives Headline a Labor Day Weekend of Great Tunes in Lake George

Labor Day weekend is shaping up to be a great one musically for visitors to Lake George. Shows taking place Saturday and Sunday at King Neptune’s Pub feature everything from the power-pop rock of The Dives to the North Country’s best jam bands.

The Dives, a talented quartet that fuses a unique blend of power-pop and rock, performs this Sat. Sept. 3 at King Neptune’s Pub in Lake George, NY. It will be an evening full of up-beat 60’s, 70’s and 80’s pop-rock covers, as well as hit originals like “She’s a Woman,”“Take it All,” and the newly released single, “Anticipation.”

There will be a VIP meet and greet with fan photos and autographs with the group. Attendees will also be able to enter a free raffle for a signed CD.

Although fairly young talent, each member of the quartet has a distinguished reputation.

Evan Stanley (guitar/vocals), son of Paul Stanley (KISS), was born in LA and attended the NYU Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music; he earned a spotlight from a young age, establishing himself as a flourishing British blues inspired guitarist.

Mike Lefton (guitar/vocals) attended Montclair State University, and has shared the stage with such noteworthy artists as Bernard Purdie, Simon Kirke (Bad Company), Mark Hudson (producer/songwriter for Ringo Starr, Aerosmith, and others), Godfrey Townsend, and Carmine Appice. He has released an EP called “What Are We Waiting For,” and continues to perform with various groups, and as a solo artist, to date.

Sergio Ortega (bass/vocals) is a multi-instrumentalist hailing from Indiana, and a graduate of Berklee College of Music. He is a songwriter, educator, and has lent his skills to Broadway and Off-Broadway productions.

Jimmy Meier (drum/vocals) grew up in NJ, and was drawn to drumming at a young age, which led him to pursue songwriting in production in college. Jimmy helps others record, mix, and produce their own music when he’s not drumming for the Dives; and he also mixed the Dives’ latest single, “Anticipation.”
