Bonnaroo Upgrades 2016 Festival Amenities

This year’s Bonnaroo music and arts festival will see many improvements — most excitingly, upgraded plumbing.

Bonnaroo reported on its website that a permanent water line is being installed on the grounds, meaning that all 85,000 attendees will have access to flushable toilets, permanent showers and filling stations, plus many more upgrades in the coming years.

Also new this year, all vehicles must purchase a car camping pass to enter the festival. The festival states that it was motivated to create this new rule to help sustain and maintain use of the 700-acre farm for the yearly event, to add new amenities like the water line and to produce a more environmental friendly festival by encouraging attendees to carpool.

Bonnaroo 2016 takes place June 9 through 12 in Manchester, Tennessee, and general admission and VIP tickets for the four-day festival go on sale at noon Friday, Jan. 22.

The festival, voted one of NYS Music’s top festivals of 2015, kicked off its 15th anniversary year with a photo documentary taken by Ryan Mastro during Bonnaroo’s past two years, featured on HuffingtonPost.com. See the gallery here.

The official 2016 lineup will be revealed this Tuesday, Jan. 19 on Conan. Tune in to TBS at 11 p.m. for the big announcement. Previous lineups have included Moon Taxi, Punch Brothers, Courtney Barnett, Twiddle, the War on Drugs, Hozier, Robert Plant and My Morning Jacket.
