Nashville Star Chris Young Comes to Utica

Country crooner Chris Young is the next big act scheduled to play the recently renovated Utica Memorial Auditorium.

The fourth season Nashville Star winner’s I’m Comin’ Over Tour presented by AEG Live will continue into 2016, kicking off Jan. 7 in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and wrapping Feb. 27 in Utica.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 18; rewards club members can purchase passes on Dec. 17 through and the AUD box office. For 13 tour dates, Young will be joined by The Voice winner Cassadee Pope who is featured on his song “Think of You.”

Young follows the extension of this tour on the heels of sell-out dates in Europe and North America, and his last visit to Central New York was in January with fellow country artist Lee Brice, playing a one-night sold-out show at the Oncenter War Memorial Arena in Syracuse. And Young is the next top-charting country act to include the historic Utica venue on their latest tour route. In 2011, Luke Bryan made history with record ticket sales and most recently Dierks Bentley played to a sold-out AUD crowd in 2014 before the venue took on a yearlong renovation project.

The singer, songwriter and now producer’s fifth studio album I’m Comin’ Over dropped in November, and the 11-track compilation has been one of Young’s most successful to date with the title single steadily remaining in the Top 5 of Billboard’s Country Airplay chart.
