Jackie Greene and Bill Payne of Little Feat will team up with Connor Kennedy & Minstrel at the first Speed of Sound festival for a special set celebrating Radio Woodstock 100.1 WDST’s 35 Anniversary.
Fans attending the event can see this collaboration from 2:30 to 3:45 p.m.
Greene has released seven albums including his current 2015 effort Back To Birth, which is his debut album on Yep Roc Records. Payne co-founded and plays keyboard for the southern rock jazz fusion band Little Feat.
The Avett Brothers will headline the festival with their final performance in the Northeast in 2015 with a two-hour-plus set.
The inaugural event will take place Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Dutchess County Airport in Wappingers Falls. The festival will also feature the Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Hot Tuna playing an electric set, Amy Helm & The Handsome Strangers and Elijah Wolf, Buffalo Stack and Upstate Rubdown.
