The Dead Weather Return With New Studio Album ‘Dodge and Burn’ Due September 2015

When Jack White announced in April 2015 that he “will be taking a break from performing live for a long period of time” following Coachella and five minimalist acoustic shows in states he had yet to play in, fans grew a little uncertain about what that would exactly mean. Good news for those folks – White’s side project The Dead Weather are back this year with their third studio album Dodge & Burn set for release September 2015.

The Dead Weather Dodge and Burn

The Dead Weather is White’s second side project (not counting his solo career), forming in 2009, two years before The White Stripes called a wrap on recording and performing. The supergroup of sorts brought in Allison Mosshart (The Kills, Discount), Dean Fertita (Queens of the Stone Age), and Jack Lawrence (The Greenhornes, The Raconteurs, City and Colour).

Dodge & Burn has been in the works since 2013, when White started writing some new material for the group with a 7″ vinyl single released that year and another single released digitally in January 2014, all while he was actively touring under his own name. As of now, the Dead Weather have not announced any touring along with the album’s release.

The Third Man Records Vault will be releasing Vault Package #25, a special package arriving the same week as the standard release of Dodge & Burn. It will feature the full album pressed on a colored 12″ vinyl record and the 7″ single released in 2013. For good measure, it will also include a custom deck of playing cards and a poster, and come in special sleeves and packaging. Be sure to reserve this package by the July 31 deadline.

While the full album isn’t quite available yet, White’s record label Third Man Records has posted four preview clips from the nitty gritty rock and roll album, which you can check out below.
